Have you ever been there before? I can tell you what to do and what not to do.

would you happen to know an Argentinian steak house restaurant in central Barcelona?
best restaurant I've eaten at, and I can't remember what it was called or where it was :-(
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:36, Reply)
TBH, every single argentinian I've been I think "this is the best steak ever"
Was it in the centre?
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:38, Reply)
not particularly far from La Rambla, not that that will help that much
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:40, Reply)
Have you tried googling restaurante argentino barcelona ?
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:41, Reply)
not sure why that is familiar though. looking on google streetview and it didn't look like it was in the sort of place that I thought it was.
basically, I need to go back to Barcelona and travel round every argentinian steakhouse till I find it.

Nice steak, but pricey.

cost £100 for the two of us but it was amazing

'I'll get the name and number for when we next go through Yokeland'.
Which is useless, because if it's any good they won't have a table for six weeks anyway. By which time I'll be back home. Meh.

they get booked up fairly far in advance, but still worth a try

did you know the best Cornish Pasties come from Devon - just down the road from Vipros. Well, what passes for a road in Devon.

but the best pasty I've had came from my local Sainsburys. admittedly they are made by a butchers or something. WC Rowe if you are interested.

Who wouldn't be man.
I've even got a fix on Chunks to pick up a sample next time through.
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 17:26, Reply)
I should sample their wares
edit: turns out they sell them in the butchers where my folks live. I'll have to get in there
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 17:54, Reply)
although there is an unexpectedly good megapasty to be got in Mevagissy.
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 17:28, Reply)
this was quite swanky looking, but a family run place (I think) and very reasonable.
they gave us shots of some sugar cane liquor after the meal. possibly. I'd consumed at least two bottles of red wine on my own at that point.

I can't remember locations of anything, despite eating at that restaurant 2 nights in a row.
the mrs and I first pretty much got together in Barcelona. Nothing happened aside from the holding of hands, but that was the start.
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:41, Reply)
Was it near your hotel? Do you remember the hotel name?
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:42, Reply)
I really can't remember anything else at the moment
need to wrack my brain and consult the mrs I think!
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:47, Reply)
It's happened to me a couple of times, so now I always get bussiness cards or pictures of the restaurants I really like.
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:51, Reply)
it was 6 years ago, so I probably would've lost it by now
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:53, Reply)
Thanks for the offer though!
(, Wed 9 Jun 2010, 16:38, Reply)
So always takes us to amazing places, some which you would never go into cos they look a bit grotty, but serve amazing food.
