Something weird happened today but no-one seems to think it's that weird
I was jogging this morning and happened across a couple of ladies in full, traditional African dress. This might not seem unusual to those of you living in ethnically diverse cities, but I live in Norwich, and it's completely unheard of here. Moreover, this happened near Carrow Road football ground, which I don't spend much time around cos it's three miles from my house. This is at 8am.

What are the chances of me happening across my first sighting of traditional African dress in 13 years living in Norwich near a football ground I never visit on the day that the first ever World Cup to take place in Africa kicks off?

So if I understand this correctly...
You happened across something hadn't seen before in an area you don't generally visit, on probably the most likely day to see this thing. I don't think you understand how experiencing things works.

It's a highly unlikely occurence happening in a part of the city that I never visit on the one day upon which the coincidence would have special resonance
actually

but you're never there
maybe they're there every day

I see your point
In which case it's still a massive bastard coincidence because I hardly ever get out there, but happened to today.

Also, Kristine, as you're American I will be forced to pretend I don't like you until about 9.30pm British time tomorrow evening, and for much longer if your lot beat us, my apologies in advance

WE'RE GOING TO KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS*
*Disclaimer: I don't actually know this, but for the sake of patriotism I'll go along with it

That made me giggle
Typical British repressed pessimism requires me to make noises about how we'll need to play to the best of our ability to get a result against a tricky opponent

But we really ought to batter you

I hope you do win
It'll make me happy.

I've attempted to watch football once, it was so_fucking_boring
I changed it after about 15 minutes, most exciting bit was when some guy got hit by the ball and his face bled for a bit
But I'm going to watch it tomorrow, and FUCKING DRINK

They do. I've got the early Winter catalogue.
I have size 9 feet so it's not easy to find the footwear I like.

I had a look for some shoes today
I know what sort I want but can't find them

For the love of all that is good
That was boring, even by the poor standards set by off topic.
Please don't ever post again, please? Oh and if you could die too, that'd be a bonus

Well
Today a masai warrior in full beaded attire walked past my house.
Earlier in the day, a woman dressed as some kind of saxon lady in homespun garments.
TBH although it was a little away from the usual and I did do a double take, it made a change from the usual Hare Krishnas, Sufis and Buddhist monks
