Oh goodI did think £50 for a basic wheel was a bit steep. You'll be amazed the difference slicks make.

my old tyres are about as knobbly as they get so anything will be an improvementI've gone for semi-slicks because I do ride places other than the road occasionally.
thanks for the advice though, it helped to get me motivated to actually do it.
