Last night was not a good night to be an animal.
Poor Benji disappeared from my sisters house and we couldn't find him. Cue two hours wandering around Todmorden, where my sis was looking after him, and much wringing of hands. We took Biscuit with us looking for him and every time we shouted his name, Biscuit would look behind her as if he should be there : (

Anyway someone found him last night and handed him in to the vets he was registered with as he had been chipped. Hooray!

Then at 1am in the morning I went to pick my dad up from the airport and on the way back he ran over a cat who darted into the road. We couldn't stop and check as the cat ran away, probably to die of internal injuries : (

We could hear it bang about under the car as we drove over it.

Question - Who's seen pics of Rosie catface crackhouse? Isn't she a darling.

I haven't seen them
CHCB hasn't sent them to me yet, I can't think why
(, Tue 6 Jul 2010, 13:10, Reply)
I hate thinking of scared critters
I'd rather them get deaded than lost or upset.
(, Tue 6 Jul 2010, 13:13, Reply)
I know.
I could see Benji all alone scared and shivering in a little shop doorway wondering where he was, and then I remembered what a numpty he was for running off, probably chasing a cat, and getting lost.

I hope he's learnt his lesson

I shall be having stern words tonight.
He's setting a bad example for Biscuit.
(, Tue 6 Jul 2010, 13:29, Reply)
That one doesn't need any bad examples.
She's mental.

I once pulled over on a narrow country road to see if I could help a run-over cat
When I walked up to it I could tell that it was well and truly dead. An attractive young woman drove past, did a double take at the sight of my car at the side of the road and yours-truly stood next to a dead cat and shouted "YOU BASTARD!"
(, Tue 6 Jul 2010, 14:21, Reply)
Did she know you then? Or was it just the dead cat?

(, Tue 6 Jul 2010, 16:22, Reply)
I ran over a dog, just two streets away.
The owner heard a car (me) coming so called his dog to him. The dog was on the opposite side of the road, and despite being slightly more intelligent than its owner, ran back as ordered.
I heard it bouncing around under the car, and managed to stop in 10ft.
Doggy was fine! - he limbo'd out from under the car, bit me, and ran to its owner. I expect it was a bit bruised, but all in working order.
So there is a chance puss is OK. Try and believe it.
