wedding cakes
hi all engaged b3tans, how are your wedding plans going?
I just saw this site
stackoverflow.com/questions/686216/what-code-would-you-have-on-your-wedding-cake
and thought of you.

MrVitaminC and I have 6 weeks to go (on saturday) and I'm shitting myself (literally actually, as I am off work today with D+V), and starting to think about stupid fripperies like what to have on the cake, given that the person making it a) speaks no english, b) is unlikely to have a sense of humour, and c) is unlikely to have much in the way of skillz, judging by photos I've seen of previous efforts. So I thought I'd prat around on t'internet looking for things to decorate it. Any ideas?

that is incredible!

Why did you get them to make a cake, if they're like that?

Equal opportunities innit?
I tells you it's PC GONE MAD!

we're getting married abroad
and the hotel we're having the reception in do the cake too - part of the package. otherwise I'd be hunting down bakers with talent for it. ultimately, it's not that important though!

HOW DARE YOU!
cake is never unimportant

I agree with this
I'm doing market research for a potential cupcake business which means I get to stake out a cupcakery on Saturday and purchase cake at least twice. I'm excited.

that sounds excellent

oh, don't get me wrong
cake is fabulous. I have been runner up in a cake competition before (http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2008/jun/04/cupcakemyass) and spend far more time than is healthy making and eating cakes. but compared to the fact that I'M GETTING MARRIED which is, like, FOREVER, it somewhat pales into insignificance!

Cake is high on my list of reasons to get married

You're getting married?
I was concentrating on the important part of your post that was about CAYKE AND MOAR CAYKE.

I like cake.

Bah!
the keyword is 'while' not 'until'. And saying 'death == true' is redundant seeing as 'death' in this context appears to be a boolean variable and A == true => A. But as the meaning of until is the opposite of while, the not operator needs to be introduced to produce the inverse of the 'death' boolean.

So the code should be:
do { ... } while (!death)

Red onion = bleurgh
I went to an all-you-can-eat buffet last night (various styles of food, Jimmy Spices) and ate sooooo much spicy food I was sweating. Lots of spicy meat FTW!

I like red onion
But I prefer it cooked, unless it's in a salad.

7 weeks tomorrow!
I really wanted to get a Bioshock cake, but
(a) Mr The Empress would never agree
(b) We can't afford it anyway

I've been looking at all the "Sunday Sweets" posts on cakewrecks. Some stunning stuff in there.

I think lego decorations would be good. It means you can decorate it yourself (instead of being at the mercy of someone who doesn't get your humour), and then you have lego to play with!
