It will Monty, have faith, and carry a loaded gun.

I don't think so.
She's just arranged a birthday picnic for our daughter, conveniently on THURSDAY when she knows I cannot get out of work. It could so easily have been Saturday, then I could have gone.

Aged two, my daughter would not be bothered about it not being on her actual birthday, surely? But having her father present might have been fun for her, as well as for me, I thought.

It's so fucking weird.
I realise I have never cared about anything so much in my life - and just when I get to finally feel such a bond, I am instantly placed in utter torment with no likelihood of respite whatsoever. It’s the most fucked combination of joy and pain imaginable. It's like one of those ancient Greek torments.

Sorry all, I am really, really fucking depressed about this today.

the depression is understandable
and at least you remain eloquent about it.

it is understandably heart-wrenching. as you say you've never cared so much about something and then you get fucked about with no control over it. take solace in our colleague Bartleby's words below. He has the right of it.

It's shitty now, but as long as you can maintain whatever contact you can, it will be better in future.

As a non doctor I can see Monty's problem
Monty, You love your child, probably the only thing you have loved properly in your life. And, the little critter loves you back, in a non judgemental way. Fuck, I envy you.

Thank you for your sage words.
I really appreciate everyone being so nice to me about this. Seriously, thank you all.

Your daughter's mother is... ghastly.

When I voiced my disappointment
I got a massive barrage of abuse about how 'it's not all about me', and this swiftly transformed into a slaughtering about money...

no reasoning with someone like that :-(

I recommend that Lab and I cycle round your ex
and pound her with our boxing gloves

Good show
We'll rain down a flurry of blows upon her, then cycle off, merrily pinging our bells.

maybe we should get a tandem for tag team cycle-boxing
I'll leave you with that thought. I'm walking home.
(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 17:19, Reply)
Yup, my offer still stands to fuck her shit up should you need it.
I doubt it'd do much good in the long run though :(

cheers mate

Your daughter knows that you are her father.
even the not as frequent contact as you'd like, is enough that she knows that. When the she is older, you will be able to see her more. When she can tell her mum that she wants to see her dad, that will be worth it. Don't give the bitch queen any reason to be able to say negative shit about you. It's probably what she wants.
