I've just thrown up my breakfast.
I had a bunch of Rastas back to my 'yard' last night following my DJing session (which ended up with the landlord telling me that whenever I want a drink in his bar to simply help myself, and the inevitable cognacgeddon that followed), and I think I must have done my old trick of 'going to the lavatory and just never coming back', because they've left me a rather sweet note thanking me for my hospitality and I woke up in my own bed with one shoe on and absolutely no memory whatsoever of retiring. My front door was wide open.

Not a bad night from an unpromising start - when I turned up they were playing Wham, and it was going down a storm with their completely annihilated clientele...

Exemplary conduct, dear fellow
I'm just getting outside of a gimlet. Next time you throw a party, drop me a line. I'll bring sausages.

You, sir
are rock n roll. I pity your organs though.

One of the Jamaicans had an onion*, hence the 'back to mine' invite...
*see the lyrics to 'Ebonics' by Big L for translation if you don't know what I'm on about.

Monty
you lightweight. What a waste of breakfast. There are children starving in the world and you chuck up willy-nilly?
Did you play Agadoo?

At one point I distinctly remember playing the 'Monkey Magic' theme tune.

Did you play any Black Flag?
If you haven't already heard it, you should get a copy of Andrew Weatherall's Sci Fi Lo Fi compilation. It has Joe Boot & The Fabulous Winds, Gene Vincent, Killing Joke and Charlie Feathers on it. You'll love it.

Weatherall is a 'mate from the pub' of mine.
I once got stinking pissed on Laphroaig with him and we spent the whole night enthusing about rockabilly records. The fellow is a fucking diamond and a walking encyclopedia of music. A less 'up his own arse' chap you would be hard pressed to find, and he's every right to be. And he looks like a WWII RAF pilot these days.

I played a couple of Gene Vincent classics myself last night. His guitar player was fucking incredible.

Weatherall is a wonderful DJ
One of my favourites. A raconteur, producer, writer, satirist, sartorial warrior and cultural gem.

I love his 'tache.
