I want to start Darktower
but the first 3 books get ace reviews, then the rest nosedive. I went through that with the "Dune" books, not sure I can go through that again.

Worth sticking with, the third and fourth are the weakest in my opinion, the last is soooo good. I don't know if you know of Jon Shannow in David Gemmell books, but Roland is reminiscent of him and a really good character.
