You obviously weren't looking then!If you go to a bit that's not full of British tourists, (i.e. not Florida) then you'll see more than your fair share of fatties. Parts of California are odd. Half the population seem to be like Barbie and Ken, but the other half are grossly obese.

I was in Virginia.There weren't many tourists around and I was quite surprised how healthy everyone looked.

I must admitI've only been in Virginia briefly, and didn't really stop. So I can't comment. Try LA next time.
