Oh no
I just remembered my dream.
No wonder I blocked it out.

Were you investigating
who was who on b3ta, and discovered that EVERYBODY is Ed?
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:12, Reply)
You're close

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:12, Reply)
Even the seagull is Ed
Isn't it? That's why it disturbes you so much.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:13, Reply)
Did you discover that it's Dj that's Ed?

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:13, Reply)
It was a bit like that.
He wasn't Ed but he wasn't really real either.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:15, Reply)
Aww,
You poor thing.

She was going about her normal dreamy business
Occasionally irritated by an itch on her cheek. She scratched it a bit, but didn't let it distract her, until after a good scratch she felt something tear.
It was just a little flap of skin, didn't hurt, but really her face shouldn't be tearing, should it? She couldn't stop touching it, and like a tatty bit of selotape on a mysteriously shaped Christmas present, it began to curl and pull, getting a little larger as she continued to scratch at it. The rest of her dream was forgotten, this one flap of skin dominated everything. It was just so itchy, and although scratching made it feel better, the flap kept getting bigger and bigger.
So she started to pull at it, her stomach turning as she felt a very odd sensation as she slowly tore this section of skin away from her face. It was odd, but liberating. She felt warmer underneath this skin, and the more she tugged, the more it felt like she was trapped under a layer of something alien, something not her. Before she knew it, she'd removed a good section of her face, feeling the occasional flap of loose 'skin' over her mouth and eyes.
She needed to know what was happening to her, but feared looking into the mirror. She steadied herself, although her fingers kept picking at the shredded skin, and headed into her bathroom.
It was there that she saw what she dreaded.
Under what was left of what she thought was her skin, was something else. Something very much alive. Thankfully something human, she thought at least, because she could see in some places clothes under the skin she was peeling back.
The itching had got worse, her scratching more panicked, and soon she was fully ripping off her skin in random patches. Her hair as well, she pulled away in clumps, because it didn't feel like her hair any more. There was no pain, only this incessant itching, which seemed to wane as she flayed herself.
Finally the itching stopped, and, breathless but thankful, she opened her eyes to see someone new staring back at her in the mirror. Someone she at first didn't recognise, but someone that felt truer to her than anything else imaginable. Someone older, wiser, distinguished in their military uniform, a number of rings on their ring finger...

Did you really read it
Or did you just see a massive wall of text and shoot for a 3 word insult?

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:32, Reply)
What do you think?

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:33, Reply)
I read some of it
it was gross.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:34, Reply)
That was intentional
She said it was a horrible dream. If she'd said it was nice I would have made it cute and fluffy not have bothered.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:35, Reply)
It reminded me of V, that series from the 80's
when the aliens would peel off their human skin and the snack on a live rat or two.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:40, Reply)
from the 80s?
Is the new one a remake then?
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:46, Reply)
Yes it is
Although I haven't seen much about it since seeing a trailer a year or so ago.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:47, Reply)
I've watched a couple of eps
it was ok, wasn't great. I keep meaning to watch more but I'm on with 24 s2, America Dad s5 and Weeds s5 at the moment.

It's got the fit whore from Firefly in it though
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:56, Reply)
*ears prick up* Really?
I might have to watch it then, although I'm trying to get back into Lost (S4) and True Blood (mostly through S1).
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:58, Reply)
On the one hand I want to watch Lost
on the other it can just fuck off and die
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:59, Reply)

Stopped watching it when I broke up with the ex, but would like to finish it off.

No one has ever recommended it to me without also cursing it.
