it's because you were judgemental.
we haven't had the other side of the story from the horse's mouth, so you have a small point, but at least the rest of us are familiar with the repeated examples of this sort of behaviour, we know how much Monty dotes on his daughter and how she is the most important thing to him.

I'm not saying you should go and read the full back story, but that you should refrain from wading in with such a strong statement of opinion
