What difference does it make? Why do you need the world to know?

The need to tell everyone, either through outright campness, or mentioning it in real life / online would be banned.

Nah, I don't think there's any harm in telling your friends you are gay
Let's face it, many I'm sure would be shocked if all of a sudden you rocked up with another guy/girl.

I agree with you on the telling everyone front though.
