it would be nice
to find an all-in-one that suited everything. i juggle my blackberry, iphone and ipod every morning, utterly pointless!
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:02, 2 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Can't you put music on iphones? I've never tried as I'm a smug creative zen user

(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:11, Reply)
you can indeed
but my iphone is too big for the gym, so i prefer to keep all the music on my ipod as i am far too lazy to bother uploading it onto both.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:14, Reply)
Again mine wins then...drag and drop and its done :)

(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:16, Reply)
ahhh
but is it pink??

hmm, i guess you might see its lack of pinkness as a good thing!
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:17, Reply)
Can you really see me messing about with anything pink?
It's black and its beefy and I love it. Google creative zen w to drool a little and just ignore the weight since it's about 3 1/2 years old and still works after being dropped numerous times
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:28, Reply)
a couple of my friends have them
they are quite nice looking and good for sports i hear as they are pretty robust
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:30, Reply)
I love it dearly. I used mine for watching tv programmes and films when I had silly commutes to places
I got through all of soprano's in a few weeks on it :)
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:47, Reply)
must be good for long train/flights

(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:49, Reply)
I miss drag and drop to load music
My old Archos used to work like that, so lovely and quick.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:17, Reply)
That's OK, you can buy an Apple Mac, starting at £699, going up to £17,500.....
... and run iTunes without it taking 5 minutes to load !
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:29, Reply)
I could list all of the ways that would never happen, but I really can't be arsed you shitstirrer.
Bad and wrong.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:49, Reply)
having seen
the stuff about above him making sweet sweet love with chompy, i think "shitstirrer" is more accurate than you realise!
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:50, Reply)
Heh, I was dissin' Macs there, it's up to Apple to get iTunes running well in Windows; not microsoft.
And they do cost three times as much as PCs, but to be fair, if you spent £1000 on an apple computer, in three years, you'll still get at lest half of your money back, rather than giving it to your gran.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:51, Reply)
Yeah you can
In just the same way as any other iPod.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:14, Reply)
hello mr penguin!
good weekend?
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:15, Reply)
Spent a lot of it fighting with computers
Trying to transfer parents from their old computer to a new one, with all the pitfalls that this includes. A large amount of today was spent sitting outside in the sun eating Sunday lunch. I preferred today.

Good weekend, swipey?
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:16, Reply)
parents and computers do not mix
when i see my dad with his, it is the same sort of feeling as when i see a cyclist merrily barreling along in central london oblivious to the fact that they have a mahoosive double decker bus right up their arse.

yes thanks - friday night was embarrassingly drunk with work friends and ended up in a couscous barn; sat had friends over here; today been up to oxford now procrastinating so i don't do any work or tidying up... i agree with your al fresco sunday lunch preferences.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:19, Reply)
What in the hell is a couscous barn?
And the weekend isn't for working. Now that I'm finished uni, I'm making sure of that.

Parents and computers often don't go well. Mum complains about her boss doing stupid stuff, then asks equally stupid questions.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:24, Reply)
it's just a random moroccan restaurant
we fell into it after mojito night at the pub next door. it was a good night. sat morning was not quite so good, i spent most of it lolling around avoiding work and playing "angry birds".

you have more sense than me, jobwise...
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:26, Reply)
Angry Birds is awesome
I'm waiting for the new levels to be released.

I don't know if I have more sense, but you currently have a job, and I don't. Every day's the weekend for me just now.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:31, Reply)
we should totally swop lives for a month
you'd be good at my job, you are articulate and eloquent and are sometimes a little bit angry/evil.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:34, Reply)
I'd be up for that
I can argue with people quite well too. Would I get to keep the pay?

edit: In real life I get angry with people a lot, especially Daily Mail mouthbreathing idiots.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:38, Reply)
yeah
the cash is the only reason you'd do it. most of your clients would be daily mail reading breathers though.

actually that's not true at all, it is a very difficult but very rewarding career. it's just easier to be flippant about it!
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:40, Reply)
There are so many careers
I wish that I'd gone for. I just found myself looking at where to purchase a copy of Gray's Anatomy online to learn all sorts of stuff that only doctors generally know/care about.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:44, Reply)
you could do something medical without having to be a doctor though
3 years for a physio or chiro rather than 7 years to become a real edmund!
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:45, Reply)
5 years at uni was enough
I'll go for a job now, and just learn about loads of stuff, and generally be really sad/good at pub quizzes.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:47, Reply)
my father would say
you need a career, not a job...
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:48, Reply)
I'm working on it
I am working on it. I just need to actually bother trying a bit harder. I'll probably end up in that London, even though I don't really want to.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:51, Reply)
london is awesome
i came for 3 years. 14 years ago!

fuck i'm old.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:52, Reply)
I just dislike the idea of how busy it is
Despite having lived in Glasgow for years and managing fine.

edit: I was going to make an 'old' joke.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:56, Reply)
very lucky for you that you didn't
i only look 21, so it's fine...

you get used to it. the upside to the busy is the permanent exciting pulse that keeps your adrenalin going.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:58, Reply)
But commuting sounds awful
And I don't imagine I'd be able to keep my car too easily.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:00, Reply)
depends where you work
i drove when i worked in uxbridge. or live within walking distance. but you do get used to it, honestly!
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:02, Reply)
You make it sound better than it sounds in my head
But I'd still prefer not to. Most jobs are there though.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:06, Reply)
you should try it
if you hate it, just quit and go home!
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:08, Reply)
You make a good case
This may open up more job options. Also, I'd quite with style.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:10, Reply)
AND
you could go to /OT bashes. what more reason do you need to relocate?
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:14, Reply)
True
Since none ever really happen up this way, other than the Edinbash, which I got ill just before.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:16, Reply)
of course
some would see that as a reason to avoid london forEVER.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:18, Reply)
It would just be that initial meeting people
That would be the scary bit.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:21, Reply)
they always seem to be when i am busy
i am beginning to suspect deliberate sabotage
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:24, Reply)
You're probably away getting expensive haircuts and things
Or sipping champagne while sitting on verandas.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:27, Reply)
hur hur, 'came for 3 years', hur hur, etc.

(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:08, Reply)
[content deleted for excessive crudity]

(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:10, Reply)
DAmn, missed out on some smut, sad times.

(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:18, Reply)
yeah
you can share too much ONLINE.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 22:18, Reply)
You could probably knock all those gadgets into the iPhone, only feature you'd lose is BB Ping or whatever it's called.
If you wanna read stuff or do emails/internet/book/video/games on a bigger screen, include the iPad on that.
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:16, Reply)
work
won't let us sync emails to iphones, for obvious security reasons. so the blackberry stays, sadly!
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:23, Reply)
Donno what security reasons, iOS4 has just as much encrpytion facilities as Blackberry, I *think*.

(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:25, Reply)
as not everyone has an iphone
i guess it might be easier for IT if everyone has the same blackberry maybe then?
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 21:28, Reply)
See.... point proven, blackberries are good for companies because they can buy 100s of units on the cheep.
And if you don't factor in mantance, they're cost effective too.
