Yes, even I didn't think this would be possible. They were playing the opeing of a new arts centre, the CCA in Glasgow, and was frankly the most hotly anticipated gig I had ever been to. The place was rammed and it was 'one out one in' into the venue itself.
We got in early and ended standing beside Jim Kerr of Simple Minds, but I digress. On shambled Suicide looking like a escapees from an old folks home. Martin Rev was sporting an eye watering, full body spandex suit and oversized shades and then promptly began to mince about behind his keyyboards. Alan Vega looked like an 80 year old Maradonna, complete with bulging gut and crazy eyes.
So far so shit. Then the music began and it bore very little resemblance to anything they had ever recorded. It took me about 5 minutes to decipher they were actually playing 'Ghost Rider', a favourite of mine. They were murdering it and the damage they were doing could be permanent, so I pushed past Jim Kerr and left hurriedly, into the night, shaking with confusion. Seriously though, they were, horrendous.

I love Suicide; to hear about this kind of live shitness is disappointing.

I don't think they had played for a while when I saw them. I am glad to hear they have progressed from the shambolic, horrendous mess that I was treated to.
I fucking LOVE Suicide and was this very morning listening to Frankie Teardrop on the train. No better way to start the day!!
