these self service tills are a bonus for shoplifting aren't they?

(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 11:17, Reply)
Funnily enough the only time I've been nicked in there was when I used self service.
Although taking a bottle of wine out my bag, raising it and saying 'cheers' to the security guard as I walked out probaly didn't help.

Saw a homeless guy run out of the Sainsbury's in Queens Park a few weeks ago with half a case of white wine - hilarious.

See loads of it when I volunteer with the homeless
best one was when coppers turned up at our shelter as a flat nearby had been burgled. Only a toaster & a coat was stolen. I went & had a look and saw one of our "guests" wearing the coat and walking around trying to sell the toaster to other homeless people.

I told the police we didn't know anything about it.

What would a homeless man want with a toaster?
Genuine question.

he was off his tits on MASSIVE DRUGS so would steal anything to try & sell on

Course he did - and got a £3.50 toaster at the same time.

When I went to Cape Verde a couple years back
We were in a huge private all inclusive resort, and the entrance to the local beach was by shanty village type thing. We sat and watched all day as these young African kids, all about seven or eight and in rags, darted past the guards, into one of the buffet places and leg it out again with as many ham and cheese toasties and jugs of strawberry daquiri they could carry. Brilliant.
EDIT - meant for Battered's post, obv.
