This came completely out of the blue. I was all happy and relaxed being single but thought I'd give it a chance and very glad I did.
Even though she's a Man U fan. She was equally horrified that I support Leeds though.

I'm a massive wimp so wouldn't be getting involved anyway.
If we ever had kids at some point down the line though, I'd insist on their middle name being 'Beckford'. Sure she'd love that.

but back in the day there was always plenty of match day aggro, worse than Liverpool in the house.

Were Leeds and Bradford.
I was in the Scarborough boozer in Leeds once when one of those little riots kicked off.
We were watching out of the windows until the Bradford lot started putting bricks through them. Then we hid behind the bar.

Worked in the City for a while, closest station to my house was Anerley.
I'd have to go in occasionally on Saturday mornings and if I timed it wrong all the Millwall boys were at London Bridge on the way home.
Knuckle dragging inbreds baying for blood. I was born and brought up in North Lancashire and I've still got the accent, but I used to say nothing around those boys.

Was in a while back on a match day and the atmosphere was quite nice.
And Leeds aren't as shit as they were a few years back, Rory. Championship is very tight this year, reckon we'll be a bit up and down all season.

It always did very well to keep the LUFC hardcases out.
When I lived/drank in Leeds they used to be in Spencers, just round the corner, or Break For The Border - now closed, but the place that I saw the original lineup of The Damned playing, for one night only, in 2000. They were shite.

It was a match day and it was rammed but there was no bother.
Can't remember what Break for the Border is now, but it's reopened under another name.

It used to be run by a Lesbian couple who engineered The Damned reunion but were soft enough to let the place get taken over by the Service Crew.
I've got a week off and I need to go into town one day so I might have a little look.
