Geek Love is great.
Artie the flipper boy is a wonderful character.
I am now on book three of the Conn Iggulden Conqueror series as recommended by Mr Boyce and others.
(And I just got a DVD delivered called 'Mongol' which is causing much amusement to a work colleague - the twat.)

I think I read Geek Love.
Was it not a bit relentlessly miserable?

Well it wasn't exactly brimming with fun fun fun but I didn't think it was relentlessly miserable.

Was a while back now. It was a charity shop random book that looked interesting.
I didn't like it enough to not give it straight back.

For a sort-of-similar read, I really enjoyed The Final Confessions of Mabel Stark, for 1920's travelling-circus-based lulz.
