Now you come to mention it
I cannot name one.

Which by an odd coincidence is the sane person's review...
...of Use Your Illusion.

1 or 2,
as they were both outstanding. Up there with Now 15 for me.

you need to not be offended by monty not liking some things
because his madness is overshadowed by how good all of the stuff he points me to is.

for instance, he doesn't like Floyd, other than the really early stuff, and I love them. That is insignificant compared to the wonders he has pointed me to, like Bigelf, and Tractor, and Jim Jones Revue

No offence taken at all
but how can he go from 4 to none in a line! I also think Floyd were shit. I'd rather David Gilmour smashed a brick into his teeth than place it in the wall.

haha
they're not for everyone. I love his guitar style though, and the feel of the music.

My dad played them to death when I was a kid so I think I got bored of the long intro's which
is why I latched on to Queen, The Boss, Sting and the Police, etc as they were quite poppy and quick. I was too young for prog rock.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:44, Reply)
Oh. You might want to keep that information well away from Monty

(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:45, Reply)
The worst that he'll do is take moar drugs so I aint worried.

(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:47, Reply)
Well, that and roundly mock you for listening to Sting, whilst in the process of consuming Massive Drugs

You will be *Yoda voice*

(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 15:09, Reply)
No you're old and mean and I shan't play with you anymore.

my dad was into stuff like The Everly Brothers and Dr Hook
and some Quo and The Eagles. His taste went downhill as he aged though.

Embarrassingly I was really into Oasis when I was a young teenager, a battered tape of Metallica's Black album saved me. Didn't get into Floyd until uni really.

I've never really liked Springsteen

I found a box of my dad's records
The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Floyd, all of this fantastic stuff.

Now he listens to Dido :(
(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:49, Reply)
I will have his records if he no longer wants them
I'm working on getting my hands on Mrs V's dad's vinyl collection. and his turntable. I've already acquired most of his old stereo for my music room.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:51, Reply)
My old man gave me all his records, only about 11 or 12 after they got smashed moving
but I now own all of Nick Drakes' albums on vinyl, a copy Peter Frampton (HA!) and an arse load of Queen albums.

Springsteen was also great for long car journeys.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:54, Reply)
I've seen Frampton
he was supporting Deep Purple
(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:54, Reply)
Wow,
any good?
(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:56, Reply)
not bad actually
considering most of the set consisted of Do you feel like I do and Show me the way (or whatever it is called)
(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 14:59, Reply)
If I'd been there it would have been 'show me the exits'

(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 15:14, Reply)
haha
Purple were good though. Very loud.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2010, 15:16, Reply)
Monty Boyce - take not of the above
Bigelf, Tractor, and Jim Jones Revue. Not hard is it. Although we established I wasn't over enamoured with JJR earlier in the week.
