In amongst the excitement of doing some ironing, cleanining out the rabbits and buying new socks.
We received an invitation to a 1970s themed party to be held in a few weeks. I fucking hate dressing up and object to the fact that everyone defaults to 1973 fashion. I might put on a black suit and borrow a pork pie hat and spend the evening explaining that the two tone ska revival was also in the seventies.

Every day of my life is a 1970s themed event.

I had
my first ever steak at a Berni Inn - or maybe it was a Beefeater?

Beafeater do some passable steaks in my experience
unlike many restaurants, they can actually manage to cook one medium-rare

Medium rare didn't exist in the 70s.

Actually, chip ettiquette is probably worthy of its own thread.

I don't know why people mock fondue
or prawn cocktail. They are both fucking awesome.
One of my mates is Swiss and has his family fondue recipe framed on the wall. It is very good.

Fucking love them.
'In the Land of Grey and Pink' was one of my most-played LPs as a teenage hippie, also 'If I Could Do It All Over Again...' is similarly great.
I'm a huge, huge fan of 'The Canterbury Scene' on the whole.

You have some research to do...lots of ace stuff to discover.

will do so
my mate who I record with is into that stuff. We've discovered that Exeter has a record shop staffed by the sort of people who are into it.
My mate ordered that Tractor album from there, and the guy behind the counter and some random customer started gushing about how good it was.

These sound like the right people to know.
You should check out 'Stoned Guitar' by The Human Instinct.
You would like it. Late 60s Kiwi freak-rock.
