sunday night/monday morning blues
i was out for dinner last night and one of the girls, who has just given notice after maternity leave, was saying how thrilled she is not to have sunday night blues anymore. and everyone else there was agreeing that they were dreading work the next day.

now i don't exactly leap out of bed and come in my pants because i get to go to work, but i've never felt that depressed about it at the end of the weekend! what about you lot... do you loathe or like mondays?

alt q, as that seems to be what you kids are calling it these days, did you have a good weekend? any gossip??
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:35, 130 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I quite like mondays actually.
my timetable this year meant I had every monday morning as private study, so if I was tired I could just sleep in and drive myself to school.

Alt Q. No. It was thoroughly depressing.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:37, Reply)
Oof, you alreet?

(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:42, Reply)
oh yeah I'm fine, just have no life at this point, due to imminent finals.
I spent my first two days of holidays downloading past papers for chemistry, psychology and maths so I can practise over the holidays, sorting all my notes, and doing questions from my text books. Just cos I knew it would bother me if I didn't.

Morning Rach
I'm a student so Monday is pretty meaningless really. I am more interested in what film you ended up watching?
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:37, Reply)
oh we went to see "cyrus"
it was ok. i enjoyed it but i wouldn't go again.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:39, Reply)
I heard good things about that
apparently there was little to no script just a guideline and a lot of improvisation.

Apologies for being gross on saturday morning too.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:42, Reply)
I heard it was shit
so I saw Scott Pilgrim instead. 9/10, would watch again.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:50, Reply)
yeah Scott Pilgrim was ace. Saw it twice in quick succession.
Liked it more than Kick Ass I think.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:52, Reply)
Kick Ass was good
but I think Scott Pilgrim was better. I didn't get all of the in jokes but I giggled and sniggered my way through it pretty much non stop. The main character in Kick Ass is a lot less annoying than Scott Pilgrim though.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:59, Reply)
No way!
his accent is all over the place which really bugged me. I don't think Michael Cera is particularly brilliant but he does a good job. I am looking forward to Kick Ass 2 now it's been greenlit.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 10:01, Reply)
yeah
the boys were going on about that and how innovative it was. might have been better with a little more script, really. but it was ok, worth watching.

and yes, you were gross, i am glad you cleaned yourself up!

I was a messy puppy.

With the curtains closed.
And they arrived with camera gear and lights.
Oh yes.

I went for a carvery on sunday and it turns out, much to my surprise that Gregs girlfriend doesn't like brocolli.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:40, Reply)
Was that the gossip you have or just a random piece of information you decided to share?

(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:41, Reply)
That was the gossip, it's super juicy.

(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:42, Reply)
well if broccoli is cooked right then yes it is.

(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:48, Reply)
Wha? No! No way!
That explains the asparagus though.

Asparagus?
At a carvery? fuck off posho.
(, Mon 20 Sep 2010, 9:45, Reply)
No, not at the carvery.
You mean you haven't heard? My lips are sealed. No gossip here. Just move along.

it's a good job i've never been to milton keynes, i am not sure my heart could take so much excitement.

and I find it harder to get out of bed on Monday mornings than I do any other day, but I'm generally fine once I get in to work. I'm not sure looking after one's wailing new crotchfruit is any more preferable to Sunday night blues, to be honest.

I almost got killed yesterday.
Country lane, I was doing about fifty coming up to a blind corner. Well before I get close to it, a fifteen year old Renault Megane on shitty, skinny, no doubt remould tyres comes belting around it and about 80.

It was a very near miss.

We received an invitation to a 1970s themed party to be held in a few weeks. I fucking hate dressing up and object to the fact that everyone defaults to 1973 fashion. I might put on a black suit and borrow a pork pie hat and spend the evening explaining that the two tone ska revival was also in the seventies.
