By using careful manipulation of my hands I can create the illusion of having a detachable thumb – many a lady has fallen into a dead faint at such acts of apparent sorcery. Another contortionism that amazes and enthrals young and old is when I use the light from a candle to cast amusing shadows on to walls using only my hams and digits; examples being a bird in flight, or even the head of a wolf.
