I've had loads of suggestions, other than That London, Aberdeeeeen, lots of different places in Ireland
Blackpool, and now Bath.

Deffo won't be able to afford all that :(

It depends on how long you were planning on staying

(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:13, Reply)
well what's the point in going from one place to the next so quickly?
I'd like to take my time and visit, perhaps a couple places in one trip, then another trip another time.

Good point.

I'm glad you've got such a low opinion of my tourist advice to think that I'm being mean to you!
Bath is lovely. It's especially nice at Christmas.
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:14, Reply)
I'll have a look at the uni there

Bath is fucking awesome. I used to work there about 15 years ago and loved it. Great place to take someone for a dirty weekend too.

I can recommend a couple of good restaurants and a good hotel.
Also there's horse racing in the summer if you like that and they have a decent rugby team if you're in to that. Some of the villages surrounding Bath are also great so go by car so you can explore.

(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:33, Reply)
See above.
Great restaurants, very scenic, nice pubs, good shopping if you want to treat someone. I may well retire there (or Edinburgh).

Used to be a good "hunting ground" for the single chap about town - low chav quotient

(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:22, Reply)
Very true.
I've had a number of successes in the city of Bath, like you say, a minimal number of chavs. Nice clubs and bars too. Moles was always tops for live music and Bristol is one stop on the train for bigger bands/alternative nights.
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:24, Reply)

I used to go to Moles, Players, Po Na Na's and Bog Island used to work in the Crystal Palace pub in the Abbey courtyard - this was in 90/91 mind.
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:26, Reply)
Bog Island closed down years ago.
It was always good fun in there.

Come closing time, we'd always go to Schwartz Bros for the finest take-out burger in Bath!
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:28, Reply)
1/2 lb blue cheese burger FTW!!

(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:29, Reply)
Are you hankering after a Schwartz?
I was in Bath a couple of weeks ago and couldn't resist going there.

They are still as nice as they were 15 years back!
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:31, Reply)

Had forgotten all about them until you mentioned them.

It's good they are still going.
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 20:32, Reply)
Still going and still going strong
And yeap. They still do the thick milkshakes - and you still get a raffle ticket with your order number on it!

*Thinks of nipping out for one now*
