The problem with that is that the colour dissolves off those things really quicklyso if I put it in the mix it would end up as a creepy white ball that looked a bit like ibuprofen.

I found a recipe where you sprinkle poprocks on the frosting at the endwhich amused me, but unfortunately they've only got a shelf life of about half an hour before the poprocks just dissolve into the frosting.
