I'm pretty sure he has to check with you before he removes anything from the security deposithe's not allowed to just get a cleaning firm and then tell you how much it costs, he has to give you a quote and you have to agree it. My last landlord got really expensive cleaners without asking us so we disputed it and got quite a bit back from them.
