it is disgustinghowever when I think of the situation (and I'm of the same mode of mind as you i.e. never that's disgusting) she must have been truly dying. I can't imagine that she'd do it otherwise, I really can't. So she must have felt actual shame at it which would be why she didn't tell you.
I still can't fathom why the floor though. If the situation was as desperate as all that, why not something better. Even a plastic bag or biscuit tin or something

EXACTLYmind you, she had to pay for a new bathroom carpet at her parents' house after a similar incident involving food poisoning, so she does have previous form. urgh.
