Tonight I'm going to my girlfriend's parents house in Drayton
to likely bid farewell to my favourite of their 9 (was 15 when we started seeing each other) cats. He's a doddery old sod now and likely to be bowing out gracefully in short order. Am determined to spend an hour or so with him sitting on my chest and hissing at the other cats as they try to nab a square of flesh to occupy, as has been our tradition this last 8-and-a-half years.

that's so fucking sad
we had an old tom and my mum nursed him to health, his ear was nothing but gristle and one eye was white, my mum fed him, got him meds, his ear and eye started to heal.
He stayed in the house and loved to be loved on, and fought all the other cats.
Then he just got sick. Think he had the aids. I had to take him to be put down. Saddest of sad faces ever.
