or possibly wanting to drag Dean back into the life by infecting him with something dark. Or possibly Sam just isn't Sam at all.

I was really hoping the first episode with Lisa and all was the product of a djinn :(

he knows enough to act like he cares about Dean, but he doesn't actually. Possibly something is dragging him to make Dean stay with him- like Dean might be able to help retrieve the bit of him that's missing. I also reckon Samuel is wrong as well
