but sometimes, depending how their taste in books, films or other things goes, it is a very strong indicator of other things in their personalities which don't just hint at so much as gold plate and gift-wrap incompatibilities.

In this case, anyone who doesn't see straight through vacuous shite like that is never going to be cynical enough for me to be comfortable in their company, or vice versa.
