Which I think can be extrapolated to QotW. Never read much of /talk so can't comment on that one, but look at the responses to some of the first couple of QotWs and you can see it took a while to hit its stride, though some of the Best stories are still pretty funny. Eventually it develops into a board where people start to tell stories properly, and people begin to write with a bit more style (ignoring all the variant erroneous spellings of 'cue'), and I think eventually, since a lot of the best writers from this era have drifted away to /talk, /OT or off b3ta altogether, it's been left with a large number of people desperate to imitate this writing style but not having any good stories to tell. Or just not being able to write with any style.
Alt: I've been wasting a lot of time on Soundcloud lately.

I was never babysat, so there's pretty much nothing I can say about it.
Been that way a few times recently...

I decided to be creative this week, but ordinarily I find it's easier to just give up and talk bollocks with the people over here. However, is this just a sign of my increasing apathy and laziness? Would I have mustered a story or a joke for a sub-par question* nine months ago? I wonder sometimes whether I'm just too cynical now to think that I've got something worth typing up for public inspection.
*Edit: Not that I think this one's sub-par, it's had its moments this week.

I must admit, I've always hated criticism on them, immature as that is. That's why I put time into most of my posts, taking up to an hour to type them and edit. So I only write a story if I think it's really worth telling, if I'm unsure, I just don't bother.

It's true though, all forums go through peaks and troughs. I stopped posting on QOTW a long time ago, it wasn't because of annoying posters, or trolls, or nested replies or whatever. I just ran out of anything interesting to talk about.
Hasn't stopped me banging on about nothing on /OT, but that's what it's for.

if a qotw comes up that I have a non-shit story for, I'll post it. If not, then I won't
