that's a problem not just in politics
people don't think enough.

I meant to mention this the other day in the wake of those bombs being found on cargo planes and proposals to increase security measures.

My view is this: no cargo planes have thus far been blown up by terrorists. Bombs have been found and disarmed. This leads me to think that the security measures as they are are just fine.

Ignoring the view that terrorism is the least of our worries at the moment.

You could just take the view that
the point of terrorism is to disrupt your life to make you change your ways to fit the terrorists ideal. So if you intentionally disrupt your life by adding more and more security so your way of life becomes untenable, you've played right into the terrorists hands.

Yes but the bombs weren't found because of security measures
they were found because a guy handed himself into the Saudis and they offered him a deal.
The bombs got on the planes undetected.

Yeah, they moved across
two seperate passenger flights before they were "discovered" on the cargo plane.
