anyway, congrats on the new place. Have a look to see if your council have one of those swap sites, you can then ask if people have spare sofas and things. There are a surprising number of things that people want to get rid of which are perfectly servicable

I'm going to the housing trust to sign the lease tomorrow, and I'll be hassling them for whatever help we can get. I mean, we've got to get carpet in. That's not the kind of thing we can take with us when we leave, meaning it's dead money as soon as we move in. I find this distinctly odd, but I'm not complaining mostly because the rent is cheap and it's a vast improvement on where we are now.
