Irreversible has received the best reaction from those I've recommended it to.The low frequenct sound at the beginning really sets the tone.

I saw it in the cinema10 or so people walked out halfway through. Not sure if it's because of the sound/camera movements making them ill, or the extreme violence.

I agree it's very shocking and I can understand the cinematographic aspects of it,but it goes on too long and is so repetitive you become a little desensitised by the end of it.
