my parents are responsible for me liking
fleetwood mac, supertramp, paul simon, dire straits...

it filters in, like osmosis!

My father
introduced me to some excellent music - none of this middle-class WOMAD pseudo-ethnic dinner party toss.

'Oh wow, put Graceland on, I just love the African rhythms - you must try this not-actually-very-good New World wine. House prices, school catchment areas ...'

Mine introduced me to The New Seekers
So fuck you for liking what your Dad put on. Mine listened to shit.

I had
50's rock'n'roll and doo wop, 60s garage rock, some psychedelia, reggae...

To my eternal shame over a period of a couple of years I nicked hundreds of records off my dad and sold them for pot. It all came back on me though, and a few years ago he gave me his record collection and all the good ones were 'missing'.

I'm I right in thinking that your Dad was in the church? He must have been the coolest vicar/priest/wharever IN THE WORLD
Generally my Dad didn't like music.

That will be your seventh level of hell.
An unending middle class dinner party with couples talking shit.
