That would be 1974.
I was lucky to live next door to a total muso and she loaned me loads of stuff and my best mate had 4 older brothers and sisters who were all musicians. My listening list for 1974 reads like a Who’s Who of rock\prog giants. However my favourites (I had to buy a new copy of Axe Victim after a couple of months) were the new boys at the time Be-Bop DeLuxe. Fucking incredible they were and that was the year of the first Kiss album, Yes, Genesis and many more. I’ve just realised how spoilt I was during my youth. All that and the punk scene as well. Marvellous.
In for a downer later. My goddaughter's husband died last week, funeral at 2:30. Think I'll take a hipflask of rum for afterward. Although that might not be well received so I won't be sharing.

I don't know their work actually - I shall investigate.
I get them mixed up with Ducks de Luxe and Mink de Ville.

I liked Futurama best of all their albums.
Axe Victim may be more to your taste though. Or perhaps Sunburst finish. No, I'll go with Axe victim.

Sorry to hear about the funeral. Generally the post service gathering becomes a very positive thing. With anesdotes and affirmations of the departed's contribution to people's lives.
However (fortunately) I've never had to attend one for anyone younger than myself. It must be harder to be positive when the person has been taken with much of what they would have wished to do unfulfilled.

I was fortunate enough to meet and have a couple of beers with Bill Nelson a few years ago. He seemed a thoroughly decent bloke and was dismissive of his guitar hero status. I think he had a distinct stlye.

Thanks.
But I really don't like you at the moment.
A pint? With Bill Nelson?
Is that envy or gamma radiation affecting me?
I did once gob on Jimmy Nail though.
