Cricket is about...Drinking for 5 says straight in the sun while some men in white pants run around and shout at each other. Given the unerring dedication to drinking that is required by avid fans it's no surprise that the wet blanket nations such as America, Iran, Burma and North Korea don't play. They have no tolerance for alcohol so for them it's a complete non starter.
