My flat is warm
But I can't believe just how cold it is outside, my natural insulation is all but gone so I have to rely on layers of clothes, it's rubbish.

Yes, but you're from a country
where hot means HOT, not 25oC. Be glad you didn't come in January - the coldest it got where I live was -12 and it was a lot colder than that in Scotland.

I'm coming back to London in the last week of January for my flight home.
and mum was texting me and telling me how it was 32 degrees on tuesday.
