This is a question Ouch!

A friend was once given a biopsy by a sleep-deprived junior doctor.
They needed a sample of his colon, so inserted the long bendy jaws-on-the-end thingy, located the suspect area and... he shot through the ceiling. Doctor had forgotten to administer any anaesthetic.

What was your ouchiest moment?

Last night I had a hungry 8ft pilot snake mistake my hand for a mouse
In fairness to him, he could smell the recently-defrosted mice but not see them. He could, however, see my hand.

*Chomp*

Somewhat painful, but very funny at the same time. Especially as he'd had been wrapped around my shoulders and neck. I wish someone had been there to video it...

Decision time...
I recon that would be the point where I would be wondering whether I was going to continue to be a pet owner or whether the missus was gonna be getting a fancy new handbag.

Ahh Bruce is the nicest snake I've ever met.
He was pretty badly treated by his former keepers, they couldn't look after him, he's got some burns on him where they didn't shield the heat lamp.

But despite all that he's genuinely well mannered. The bite looks nasty but he let go when he realised it wasn't food. It was entirely my fault, he smelt his dinner and I moved my hand between him and it. Any animal could and would do the same. I've had worse bites from gerbils...

I'm no expert...
but gerbils probably dont make good handbags.

True
But you could fashion a handsome coin purse from one...

should have used tongs or left the food out perhaps?
my royal has never bitten me, though she did get my bro when he did the same.

Beautiful snake btw

I did.
Put the food on the floor of the kitchen using tongs. He was wrapped around my shoulders and a few feet of him pointed towards the food. Usually he follows the smell onto the floor and finds the food.

This time, though, he was very hungry and smelt it from a distance. Instead of going for the food, he saw my hand and mistook it for tasty mices.

Thanks, he's a beauty. Got any photos of your royal?

yup
She's lovely
Ooh look a snake

Aww she is
I'd love a Royal. But I have to stop taking in homeless pets...

We used to have 3 Royals when I was a kid.
Had to feed them live gerbils as one, we reckon he'd been illegally imported before he found his way to us, wouldn't eat frozen and was scared of mice!
I decided I wanted to know what a snake bite felt like and so went and played with the gerbils and then stuck my hand in the tank when one was hungry. I don't know what I was expecting because they've only got dinky teeth but I was gutted it didn't scar.

Yeah I'd rather have liked it to scar, too.
Still, could make a cool tattoo...
