Agreed
Doctor Who is tongue in cheek and aimed at kids. Torchwood seems to be even more ridiculous yet aimed at an older audience.

It also has Barrowman in it, a man whom I initially found funny, but has reached Kerry Catona levels of over-exposure lately.

I do like it, but the first time I ever saw it, I missed the triple X advisory and was watching it with my preteen. When the tits and rumpy-pumpy came on screen, I said, "Whoa! maybe not".
Later, I overheard my son telling his sister Torchwood was just like "a dirty, dirty Doctor Who".

Doctor Who is aimed at families. Torchwood is aimed at 'adults'.

I like both, but DW is better by a country mile.

It's a poor man's New Doctor Who. The original series had intelligent, well-written stories, whereas the modern incarnation has flashy effects, annoying music and touchy-feeliness but no real substance.

Torchwood is so crap that only children would be able to watch it without thinking "this is total guff", but they've denied themselves that audience with all the shagging and swearing. Bunch of arse.

Torchwood is worse. Watched 1 episode and fell asleep 1/3 of the way into it. Still, even so, its stil 4000% better than Primeval on ITV.
