art and design philistines
ive just finished my years coursework, and am currently quite happy looking back on the last few weeks of working silly hours, and a week of 12 hour working days learning to use and making a full site in flash
what pisses me off is all the people who seem to think that all art and design based courses are 'just drawing' and complain that 'you dont have exams?! so you must do no work!' then go out get shitfaced 5 nights a week then spend two afternoons in the library 'revising' (facebook dictates otherwise) complaining about how ridiculously stressed they are-there are enough forensic/criminologist/psychology/creative writing combination students out there, what the fuck do they hope to be!?!
apologies for generalisations, but most students are c8nts

true
but when i say that people respond, usually with 'wanker eyebrows,' 'oooh, so that means youre a cunt?' yes well done, fuckoff, or i'll say something actually cuntish to prove it. now trying to think of someone from degree who can't be described as cunt in any way...not happening

Thinking any art course/degree isn't time-intensive is just ignorant.
I think, in my years on college/university, I spent far more time on the various art projects than I ever had to do studying for exams.
But then, psychology is easy as fuck. The only time I had to work at it was for biopsychology and drugs/behavior (drugs as in medication, not the other).

You made a site...
... in flash?
Is there no god?
*weeps for the sake of humanity*
(No, seriously, flash is pure evil)

ignore these fuckers
i did a degree in design in typography, the point is anyone can learn things from a book or develop skills but artistic talent is a gift. As you get older it gets better - things come easier to you - you have more life experience to inspire you.
currently i'm on 50K plus for doing something i enjoy and that comes naturally to me. i get to play with global brands and see my ideas out there in the biggest gallery in the world.
next month i'm moving my wife and son to dubai on an even bigger salary that’s tax-free.
i actually revel in telling people i do 'colouring in' for a living then driving home in my beautiful sports car which is purely a toy for me to play with cos i can afford it
