This is a question Pet Peeves

What makes you angry? Get it off your chest so we can laugh at your impotent rage.

Holding Open Doors.
If I hold open the door for you, even the slightest acknowledgement would be nice.

A nod of the head, a smile, maybe even a thank you.

It's not that hard to be polite people, seriously.

If you just ignore me don't look so offended when I turn round and cheerfully say, "You're welcome," what did you expect, I'm not your servant, I was doing you a favour.

EDIT: Woo! It's my b3taday :D

Happy B3taday to you :)

apologies, but...
Those people who say "You're welcome!" with a jaunty superiority are tossers. If you're going to open the door for someone, do it to be polite, but not to instill politeness in others. Would you give a beggar money and tell him how to spend it?

theres only one
reason to hold doors for ladies - so as you can ogle their norks as they arrive and their booties as they leave whilst they grin at you for seeming chivalrous. See also, pulling out chairs at tables for ladies so as you can get a full downward cleavage view. Gentleman, my wobbly bits!

I
never know what to say to people when they open the door for you on multiple occasions in the same walk. Do you thanks them each time? or just the once?

@bazmorningstar
I think you'll find that I hold the door for everyone. REGARDLESS of gender. Plus why would I want to 'ogle your norks' when I'm gay...? It's manners pure and simple.

@fuckarma
I never know either, I generally alternate between cheers, thanks, ta and whatever else at each door.

Like
a cycling selection of appreciation! Yeah, I think that, just think I sound a bit daft by the 3rd door!

Ah well, someone should study and produce a book on how to deal with those situations!
