This is a question Phobias

What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

people crunching ice
that's YOU, child at the next table in the pub. Stop it before my teeth jump out of my skull in horror.

Oh I love doing that
When I get a drink with ice I'll sit and chew the ice cubes if they're still there after the liquid has been drained.

*goes to fridge*

*gets drink*

*drinks*

*crunches ice cubes*

It's not a good idea.
Tooth enamel is crystalline, as is ice. when you hit two crystals against each other, one of them is likely to shatter. It isn't always the ice that shatters.

I have a bad habit
of chewing ring pulls from drinks cans.

Several chipped teeth, many cut cheeks and gums and the horror in the faces of my friends when they witness it hasn't stopped me. Ice? Ha! :P

Ice woman
I have seen a woman on my train get on with a bag of ice-cubes and sit there munching her way through them like normal people would eat crisps.

You wouldn't like her at all.

Teeth
I read somewhere that crunched ice has jagged edges which scratch the protective layer of the tooth enamel, making it easier for the tooth to decay.

@BearWithLittleBrain: Maybe she's on a diet and ice is her substitute for crunchy things.
