Some Asian chaps really DID blow themselves up on public transport, killing dozens and injuring hundreds.

I remember getting the bus to work in London, in the days just after the July 2005 bombings. And I also looked askance at the Asian chaps on the bus (although I never actually moved my seat).

It was weird. On the one hand, I could tell that EVERYONE on the bus was looking (albeit discretely) at the Asian chaps on the bus (and that the Asian chaps knew they were being covertly scrutinized, and maybe feeling quite uncomfortable). On the other hand, some Asian chaps, a day or two before, really HAD blown themselves and some of my fellow Londoners up...

But in the days immediately following 7/7/2005, it might have been prejudice, but less so, and as any other Londoner at the time will probably agree, it was hard not to be suspicious of our Asian neighbours - for a few days or weeks.

Of course, if you're STILL suspicious of an Asian with a backpack, then yes, you are BNP material.
