This is a question Pubs

Jeccy writes, "I've seen people having four-somes, fights involving spastics and genuine retarded people doing karaoke, all thanks to the invention of the common pub."

What's happened in your local then?

not my local but
i once saw david mitchell (the fat one off of peep show) having a few in the oxford arms in north camden town. he was there with this fat bird, or at least she was trying to chat him up, and i promise you, he was totally in character.
the worst part was, having watched peep show extensively, i could imagine his inner monologue as she proceeded to explain how, why and when she had decided to give up smoking.

I've seen him out and about a bit too
Feel like I know him, what with watching Peep Show so bloody much.

Oxford Arms has got the worst beer garden in the world ever... 'S like being in prison.

David Mitchell...

Is one of the few 'celebrities' that are on my list of: 'People that I think I would actually like to have a pint with'.

The list is very small. As for most other celebrities, I'd just like to punch them stoutly on the nose.

That pretty much sums it up
He feels like a bloke I could meet up with on a Saturday and spend the afternoon explaining how the entire world has gone to shite while poisoning my body.

On a similar note, my uncle still boasts to me that he was drinking buddies with Richard Wilson before he got famous for One Foot in the Grave. Seeing as my uncle is an alcoholic, I won't rule it out.

Richard Wilson does lots of cocaine
and refers to it as 'boosty-woosty', the camp old twat.

not of course
that you've got that off Popbitch...

he also calls it 'Beak'
Or so my friend who was allegedly at a party where he was also allegedly at has unreliably informed me.

He's not fat..
He's big boned!

He's not fat...
He's festively plump!

I went to university with Rob Webb
(and presumably David Mitchell too, although I don't remember him). One of my friends summed him up rather well as 'the kind of guy who isn't gay but wishes he was'. But it was pretty obvious from the start that he was going far. I directed him in a play once and he was great.
Having said all that, I do think David Mitchell is by far the funnier of the two. He totally rules The News Quiz whenever he's on. And the bit where he's pissing into a desk drawer in Peep Show is one of the great moments of TV comedy IMO.
