This is a question World of Random

There's a pile of scrap timber, rubble and general turds in the road opposite my work with a hand-written sign reading "Free Shed". Tell us about random, completely hatstand stuff and people you've seen

I didnt think much of the casting at-all
I know the BBC series was cheesie, but it told the "tale" a lot better....

Problem is its a story that was forever changing everytime it hit a new medium Adams would change the bloodey thing, there was no real consistancy other than the names.... you can't do better than Slarty bardfast

The guy who played Arthur Dent in the TV show
is the same person the character was based on.

Can't get better casting than that.

He was also
Walter Raleigh in that episode of Blackadder 2

Awesome. Definitely an excuse for a rewatch

Actually I thought the casting was one of the better aspects
Hugely disappointing overall, though - even forgetting the 20+ year wait! It failed for both audiences: fans were disappointed, n00bs wouldn't have had the foggiest idea what the hell was going on.

I did quite like the Magrathean workshop, however. A rare scene where the radio didn't have better pictures...

I should admit to being a fan of a fairly obsessive level. To the point where I've edited together the audio versions (radio, LP and TV soundtrack) to produce the ultimate mega-complete extended disco remix, with every single joke ever recorded -- sometimes editing between the three versions several times during a single line of dialog...

If anyone wants a copy of this, Gaz me and I'll send a URL. I'd like to get it "out there".
