World of Random
There's a pile of scrap timber, rubble and general turds in the road opposite my work with a hand-written sign reading "Free Shed". Tell us about random, completely hatstand stuff and people you've seen

Ah Vigelandsparken...
I guessed it might be that before I clicked. I think the statues look pretty cool -- people tend to mention the angry baby but I find the one you linked to more amusing. The monolith is way cool and very impressive.
Edit: As for what it means I think you may have it spot on. Have you been to the park yourself? I ask because the sculptures, to me at least, fit together well and create a cool park. I've seen this sculpture mentioned on a "fail" site also and wonder why such a whimsical thing can stir up so much emotion.

Because some people are too thick and bitter to breathe in and out without getting angry at their own mouths.

Nope, never been there.
I saw this on the Cracked article referenced below and was greatly amused by it. There have been many times I've felt just like that.

The whole park is filled with sculptures like it.
I think they are supposed to represent the journey of life and, as I said, the monolith is awe inspiring, well it was to me at least.
