This is a question Rubbish Towns

I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Applying to UCLAN?
It's not so bad. It's pretty small though, so whether you think it's shite or not depends on where you're coming from...

You should definitely
enjoy a pub there called the Mad Ferret. It's good for live music and every year they put on Glastonferret, an alternative festival - they even turf the interior of the pub to give it that outdoors feel.

Preston isn't too bad
Avoid the park that's down a side street off the main shopping street, lots of druggies and scary creatures. It's like fucking paradise compared to Blackpool

Preston Here.
IIRC, myerscough ag. has some accomdation on-site; but you're away from anything except a nearby chippy, small shop/post office, and pub. Alternatively, staying in Preston commits you to a daily bus trip up the A6, or a daily struggle to park.

Preston isn't all bad; I suppose it depends on what you like in life. Crompton's right about caution regarding Avenham Park, however at the right times it seems quite safe.

One tiny anecdote about Myerscough: In the science labs, there is/was a safety book; which advises that ordinary water spilled in the eye should be rinsed away with ordinary water.
