Rubbish Towns
I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.
Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Swindon
1) It has the 'Magic Roundabout' - Impossible to navigate. Every time I tried I ended up just pointing the car in the direction of the exit I needed and sounding the horn lots.
2) 'Cyber Swindon' in the TV Gameshow was way nicer.
3) It makes Milton Keynes look GOOD!

This made me curious...
So I googled it - whoa, it does look pretty confusing...

I remember "Cyber Swindon"
some crappy gameshow with Craig Charles from Red Dwarf. He would shout "Arrooooga!"

I can't believe that I still haven't tried it.
I lived about ten miles away for about twenty years.
I'll be that way soon so I'll have a go by Christmas.

aaaah, the magic roundabout...
they have one in Hemel Hempstead (another pit of dispair).
The problem is, everyone thinks of it as a big roundabout, when in fact it's just 5 roundabouts. Sounds obvious, yes, but when you go into it in that frame of mind it all becomes simlple. The difficult bit is dealing with everyone else who can't cope with it.

Swindon
It's really not that bad if you exclude the Parks, all of West Swindon, most of the new North Swindon development (which, once the new homebuyers have moved on, will be as pikey as West Swindon in 10 years' time), Moredon, Walcot, Pinehurst, Penhill, most of Liden, half of Nythe and Eldene, most of Covingham and the whole town centre north of the Bath Road. Oh, and most of Wroughton.
There are a few good things about Swindon: it always has the cheapest petrol in the UK, although no-one knows why, the Oasis swimming pool is a bit grubby but still entertains with its wave machine and huge waterslides and you can get to London for £6.75 off-peak, which is cheaper than going from Reading.

I had to do my driving test on it
And it's not as bad as you think, just 5 roundabouts, each to be treated in their own right.
Simple
