I'm broke, you're broke, we're all broke. Even the smug guy on the balcony with the croissant hasn't got two AmEx gold cards to rub together these days. Tell everybody your schemes to save cash.

Hurrah!
I'm fighting the need to say that legal tender only applies to debt and very specific transactions and does not apply to paying for random shit. And bronze coins are only legal tender up to 20 pence... oh, I've failed in fighting that particular need, but fuck it.
A few more amazing facts about money:-
Bank of England notes are not legal tender in Scotland and Ireland.
Scottish and Irish notes are not legal tender anywhere.
A 19 year old Turkish girl once hid €20,000 in her vagina.

Thanks for saying that, I was about to have a shot at it.
Also when you buy goods from a supermarket, there is no contract until the cashier accepts your offer to purchase the goods - they can refuse service if they want, and they definitely do not have to sell you an item for the price on the price tag*!
*although they might then have to take down all similar items across all of their stores etc for a period of time and re-price the lot, but that's all a bit different. Price tags are an invitation to treat, not an offer in need of acceptance.
