This is a question Screwed over by The Man

We once made a flash animation for a record company. They told us it was brilliant and 30 staff gave us a round of applause. They asked us to stick it out without their name on it. Then their legal department sent us a cease and desist for infringing their copyright. How have you been screwed over?

Local Council has done us. Official! (bad grammer on porpoise)
Where we live all the roads, (must have cost millions to re-tarmac), were resurfaced. Many of them, including ours really didn't need doing (do you know most councils have a 90 year road surface replacement strategy!)

I dont know how they got the contract, but locally, all our roads have been dug up by lovely Irish gentlemen to lay new gas lines.

As a tax payer, and a road user I couldn't possibly comment on who arranged this.

But I can comment on the stupid roadworkers hammering away the one morning I can take to have a lay in!

Screwed over by the council, they must know major gas works are going to be going ahead, its not a little leak, its several streets. So noise, and a lovely new road marred with shoddy fill in patches.

Yeah,
but the utility companies are paying the cost of the digging / refilling, so as a council tax payer it hasn't cost you any more.

True, but he has ended up with a shit road.

That was the point.
They spend millions on resurfacing, then 7 months later gas workers come along and dig it all up. And wake me up!

The council may not have known
I think some of the utility companies have the right to dig where they want with little to no notice to the council. Can't remember what it's called.

Sounds like you live in Wrexham
I can't remember the last time I couldn't see roadworks somewhere within a two-mile radius. Then a couple of years later, they find out they've done a shit job and dig it all up again.

Not long ago some cock stopped our water for a few hours.
Bad pun meant. When I asked him for documentation he clammed up and wouldn't even give me somewhere to ring if he didn't stop fucking with the water when he promised. I am 98% sure he wasn't just some twat trying to disrupt or poison the water supply but form his attitude you'd think I had no right to enquire whether he had the correct permits to fuck with the water supply for a few hundred people.

They're resurfacing the road near my house.
The tarmac guys have got the first layer of tarmac down on the bottoming, and the Scottish Water guys have *already* dug it up. The second layer isn't even on, never mind the surfacing, and already there are shitey big holes in it!
