This is a question Silly Achievements

Happy Phantom writes, "Sometimes - by planning or happy accident - you achieve something with which you are quite pleased, but which makes little or no difference to the rest of the world.

"This morning, I woke up and spontaneously farted the opening three notes from The Frog Chorus."

What did YOU do?

Sorry - had to come back to this
There is something about this post that irritates the back of my brain like razor wire on a flail. Are you a scientologist or evangelical or something? There's something about the way you write that says "indoctrinated" to me.

"I've always assumed him to be long-term unemployed or a self-employed contractor."

There is something deeply disturbing about your assumption. We are all pretend people here. This is not real.

I'm a self-employed contractor in real life.
Is that a bad thing?

not at all. So am I
It was just that I didnt see him having 'colleagues' per se. Because I dont think he'd survive in that environment any longer than a week.

My being a self-employed contractor
means that I work alongside a lot more 'colleagues' than I did when I was employed full-time by a company. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong.

- Nice turn of phrase.

Are you a scientologist or evangelical or something? There's something about the way you write that says "indoctrinated" to me.

- I may be a colossal idiot when it comes to recognising jokes but not to the extent of accepting the colossal idiocy and regimented noncery of organised religion. No to all three.

There is something deeply disturbing about your assumption. We are all pretend people here. This is not real.

- if you check the context of my post, you'll see I prefaced it by stating that I had almost no grounds for forming any opinion of him that could in any way be based on fact. And that what follows - it should have been obvious - was an internal musing that I freely admitted to have based on no data. Other than the enormous amount of time he managed to spend posting here. Which made me curious.

Is anyone real on here? probably not. Do elements of the real person seep through? of course. Nobody can spend several years regularly contributing to - or innhis case, detrimenting to - a forum without leaving a massive stamp of their own real personality/identity all over it

in my opinion.

Thank you
For your courteous and considered reply. My implications were taken from the style of your post. If you don't want to be misrepresented then be precise and objective. If you're taking the piss it doesn't matter; but expect collateral damage. The whole Shambles thing raises questions of acceptability, but come on. If you're posting on here expect to get your bollocks shot off.

I'd like to thank you both
for having a calm, sensible and civil discussion about this, rather than resorting to the kind of verminous trolling which has infested this place of late.
